Gerry is the Chairman and CEO of Dougherty and Company and Dougherty Funding. They are affiliated companies involved in Investment Banking and Commercial Finance. Gerry has a Masters degree in Finance from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
Gerry began competing in cars doing Solo events during college and attended Skip Barber racing school in 1985. He began seriously racing in 1993 after attending the Danny Collins driving school in Denver. Gerry raced Spec Racer Fords for several years before moving to the Formula Continental class in 1997.
He won 6 nationals, finished top-5 in CENDIV points in 2000 and had numerous other top-5 finishes while driving Formula Continentals. Gerry stepped up to the Cooper series in 2004 and finished 8th overall in 2005. In 2006, Gerry competed in the F2000 Championship Series and ran a few Star Mazda events in preparation for the following season. Gerry has competed in the Star Mazda Championship Series since 2007 finishing 2nd in the Masters Championship in 2009.
Kraut, a native of North Oaks, MN., will make the transition to sports cars in 2011, after a highly successful-run in the junior formula car ranks the past few years. Competing primarily in the Star Mazda Championship, the JDC MotorSports pilot has raced against many of the premier up-and-coming racers in North America, displaying not only superb skill and speed behind the wheel, but also scoring numerous Masters class wins.
In recent years he has competed successfully in the IMSA Prototype Lites Championship and made his first start in the TUDOR United Sport Car Championship at the 2014 12 Hours of Sebring were he finished 4th in class.

Finished 4th in class in his TUDOR United Sportscar Championship series debut during the 2014 12 Hours of Sebring.
